Whitney J. Scherrinsky

Whitney J. Scherrinsky, 41, of Toledo, IL. passed away at 12:47 pm on May 17, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL.

Whitney was born on December 18, 1980, in Mattoon, IL. He is survived by his mother, Joyce (Jim) Cummins; father, Eric Scherrinsky; brother, Jacob Lashmet; grandmother, Violet Yealick and his dog, Little Bit. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Elmer Scherrinsky.

Whitney loved Martial Arts and obtained a 3rd degree black belt.  Whitney had strong will and determination, after a car accident in 1998, left him paralyzed. He went on to enjoy traveling, where he was able to visit Hawaii twice. He had a very witty personality and good-hearted sole, who never met a stranger. He loved his family, his dog, hanging out with friends and family, classic Chevy Impalas, music, psychology, and anything to do with science.
