Vernon Lester Cisney

Vernon L. Cisney, 67, of Jewett, IL passed away at 8:10 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital on Urbana, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Private family services will be held at 6:00 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded. Please practice social distancing and masks will be required while attending services.

Vernon was born July 4, 1953 the son of Gilbert and Minerva (Henderson) Cisney. He married Kathy Gross on September 2, 1978. He is survived by his wife; sons, Vernon Wayne (Jody) Cisney, Scott Anthony (Paige) Cisney, Corey Gilbert Cisney, Andrew Kenneth Cisney, and Joseph Lee Cisney and fiancé Jacquelyn McKelvey; daughter, Hannah Irene (Bryant) Burch; grandchildren, Vernon Jacob Cisney, Haley Rose Cisney, Victoria Cisney, Katherine Cisney, Daniel Cisney, Harmony Cisney, Khloe Burch, and Brentley Burch; brothers, Duane (Karen), John (Anita), Jim, Jerry (Pid), (Twin) Virgil (Cindy), and Charles Cisney; and sister, Janice (Jack) Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Jane Lewis.

Vernon was member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Hidalgo, the NRA, and G.S.L (Guns Save Lives). He worked at Donnelly’s for 35 years then Evapco for 12 years before retiring.
