Thomas Eugene Jester

Thomas E. Jester, 85, of Jewett, IL passed away at 3:35 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Willowbrook Memory Care Effingham, IL.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Tom was born in Jasper County on December 17, 1934 the son of John William and Grace (Clark) Jester. He married the love of his life Shirley Tabb on March 12, 1960. Tom is survived by his wife; children Tracy (Duane) Huddleston of Hidalgo, IL, Amy (Howard) Levine of Jewett, IL, Tom (Sally) Jester of Dunlap, IL, and Andrea (Ed) Kulach of Crystal Lake, IL; 10 grandchildren Ben (Amanda) Huddleston, Beth (Craig) Shamhart, Meghan Huddleston, Gabrielle Zerrusen, McLain Levine, Madison Jester, Mitchell Jester, Jack Jester, Alexander Kulach and Kathryn Kulach; 4 great grandchildren Olivia and Hazel Huddleston, and Addison and Avery Shamhart; brother Charles Jester; sisters Louise Green and Loretta Hardin. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill, Jim, and Jack.

Tom served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dieterich American Legion and the Greenup VFW. Tom was a computer analyst, and he owned and was president of Logic Data Systems. He attended the Harmon United Methodist Church. He was an avid mushroom hunter and gardener. He loved farming his land and taking care of his cattle. Tom deeply loved and was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
