Terry L. Scales

      Terry L. Scales, 51, of Hazel Dell, IL passed away at 4:32 pm on November 18, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, in Mattoon, IL.
      A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday November 27, 2021, with a Memorial Service to begin at 1:00 pm at the Barkley Funeral Chapel, in Greenup, IL. A Celebration of life will follow at the Greenup American Legion.
      Terry was born on September 15, 1970, in Effingham, IL to Owen Shay and Anna May (Hays) Scales Chancellor. Terry is survived by his son Dylan (Angel) Simms, of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Jenna Simms of Casey, IL; brothers, Scott Scales of Greenup, IL, Roger Scales of Greenup, IL; Grandchildren, Aubree, Chance and Acelynn Simms; his best friend, CAVEMAN, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Henry (Eula) Hays and Herschel (Mary Etta) Scales, and one sister, Cindy Yelton.
      Terry worked for EVAPCO Midwest as a truck driver for over 15 years. He also worked at McKinney Trucking in Montrose, IL, Ervin Equipment in Toledo, IL, Hunter & Association and K & L Ford in Toledo, IL.
      Terry was an avid demo derby car driver and builder for many years. He loved music and played the bass guitar for local bands. He was a member of the S.A.L. #566.
