Sarah Frances Roberts

Sarah “Frances” Roberts, 103, of Toledo, IL., passed away at 2:12 a.m. on August 30, 2023, at Heartland Nursing and Rehab in Casey.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday September 12, 2023, in the Jewett Cemetery. There will be a meal following the service at the Jewett Community Church.  The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Frances was born on January 22, 1920, in Jewett, IL. to William Edward and Sarah “Sadie” Hoover. She married Euris “Nitch” Roberts on January 25, 1936. They were married for 67 years, and he preceded her in 2004. Frances is survived by her son Randall (Shelia) Roberts; and daughter Kaye Edwards; grandchildren Roger, Jeff, and Michael Edwards, Ian Roberts, Michele Hinkley, and Darcie Kimberlin; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son-in-law Kenneth Edwards.

Frances worked at the Ettelbrick Factory in Greenup, IL, until she retired. She later went on to work at the Jewett Post Office. She was a member of the Jewett Christian Church where she played piano for several years.
