Roy K. Overton

Roy K. Overton, age 88, of Greenup, IL. passed away on May 6, 2022, at 2:24 am at Sarah Buch Lincoln Health Center, in Mattoon, IL.

Graveside service will be on Monday May 16, 2022, at 10:00 am in the Toledo Cemetery with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. is assisting the family with arrangements.

Roy was born on August 10, 1933, in Lupton City, TN., the son of Robert Floyd and Ella Mae (Green) Overton.  Roy married Doris Shoot on June 20, 2000. Surviving is his wife; his daughters, Melody Kott, Angie Murawski, and Tonda Christiansen, and bonus daughter, Kristy (Larry) Tinsman Jr.; sisters, Vickie Overton, Juanita Mulkey, and Jackie Pugh; sister-in-law, Mary Overton; and several grandchildren.  He is preceded by his parents, and brother Leon Overton.

Roy worked at Ford Motor Company in Chicago for 35 years as a maintenance welder before he retired. He served his country in the Army, and he also severed in the Navy.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation.
