Aaron was born on August 2, 1975, son of Dean and Patti (Lyons) Carrell, in Charleston, IL. He is survived by his father, Dean Carrell; mother, Patti (Skinnard) Thornton; son, Aidan Richard Carrell; daughters, Kyla Bree Thornton, and Anna Lyn Carrell; sister, Glenna Jo (Jason) Henderson; paternal grandfather, Wayne Carrell; nephews, Gabe, Evan, and A.J. Aaron worked at Patterson Technology Center as a Database Engineer since 2005. He also worked at Sherwin Williams, Wilb Walker’s grocery store, and at Lyons Lanes in Greenup, IL where he assisted his mother with various aspects of the bowling business.  He was a 1993 graduate of Cumberland High School, then went on to attend Lakeland College. Aaron had a dry, yet witty sense of humor, that entertained everyone. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing ping-pong and being involved in fantasy football. Aaron was a diehard fan of the L.A Raiders and the Chicago Cubs. He was also a self-proclaimed family domino champion. Aaron also enjoyed spending time at the river with his children at the family farm in Hidalgo and doing outdoor activities such as fishing and camping. He loved supporting his children and attending their sporting events and activities. Aaron’s children were always his number one priority.

Aaron was a member of the Effingham Country Club and Christ’s Church in Effingham. Memorials can be made to Jeepin for a cure or to the children’s education fund. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com
