Phillip Stephen Dooley (Steve), 63, of Hidalgo, IL passed away at 1:50 PM December 2, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon IL
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Steve was born April 11, 1958 in Sumpter, SC. He leaves behind Sons, Randall Dooley of Hidalgo, IL , Ross Dooley (Alex)of Mason, IL parents; Phil and Velina (Walden) Dooley of Hidalgo, IL, Sisters, Jane Chapman of Memphis, TN Jody Bierman (Bret) of Hidalgo, IL and special friend Kathy Reynolds of Hidalgo, IL. Two grandchildren, Drew and Korra Anderson-Dooley, one niece, Kristin Radke (Kevin) four nephews Mitch Chapman (Lindsey), Kyle Heuerman(Jennifer), Jordan Heuerman(Brittany), Stetson Bierman. Eleven great nieces and nephews. Two uncles, Rick Dooley of Hidalgo, IL and Dean Dooley of Bethalto, IL.
Steve is proceeded in death by grandparents Dale and Lucille Walden, Clyde and Mary Dooley, one Uncle Glen Walden and infant sister Debbie Dooley.
Steve was a lover of all animals but had a gift with horses. Horse racing was a passion of Steve’s. He loved to help train and spend time at the barns. Steve worked out of the Charleston laborer union for 12 years. He then went on to work at Evapco up until his retirement in Jan. 2021.
Steve never met a stranger. He was a great friend to all who knew him. He was always the life of the party, and always had a story to tell. He will be greatly missed.
