Pauline Edith Callahan, 93, of Montrose, IL passed away at 7:30 AM on June 17, 2024, at Lakeland Rehab & Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday June 24, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to service time on Monday at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery.

Pauline was born in Mattoon, IL on September 10, 1930, to Donald and Hazel (Thompson) Whitaker. She married Fred Doyle Callahan on July 12, 1952, and he preceded her in 1989. Survivors include three daughters Barbara Aleshire, Doris Gephart, and Linda (Mike) Dittamore; sisters Christine Carrell and Julia Rhodes; sisters in law Martha Watkins and Ruth Sparks; five grandchildren Sarah (Aaron) Sieben, Josh Gephart, Elizabeth (Jesse) Bernard, Christopher (Katie) Dittamore, and Jennifer (Chris) Tucker; eight great grandchildren Logan, Lauren, Briley Gephart, Kage and Kash Bernard, Cheney and Raegen Dittamore, and Clyde Tucker; two great great grandchildren Elliana McTeer and Brooklynn Gephart. She was preceded in death by her parents and sons in law Ronald Aleshire and Don Gephart.

Pauline was a homemaker and a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and always keeping her yard mowed. She will be missed by all her family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com
