Patricia Sue Gentry

Patricia Sue Gentry, 86, of Arcola, Illinois passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday February 11, 2025, at The Arthur Home in Arthur, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday February 23, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Patricia was born on April 23, 1938, in Jewett, Illinois to Joe and Helen (Brown) Cox. She married Donald Eugene Gentry in the summer of 1957, and he preceded her in death in 1983. Patricia is survived by her sons Glenn (Angie) Gentry and Rodney Eugene (Ondina Aguirre) Gentry; daughter Debbie Gentry; sister June Bland; grandchildren Meghan, Myles, Max, Markie, Mason, and Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; brothers Albert, Larry, Billy Joe, and Stanley Cox; sisters Olive Gray, Barbara Leuken, JoAnn Miller, Rita Cox, and Rose Russell.

Patricia was a homemaker, while also running her own upholstery business “Pat’s Upholstery”. She was the Housekeeping Supervisor for Clark-Lindsey Village for many years. She went on to work and retire from Building Services at the University of Illinois.
