Norma Lee Powell, 83, of Toledo, IL passed away at 2:50 am on February 20, 2022, at her residence.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on March 12, 2022, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL with Rick Britton officiating. Due to the weather, we are moving indoors.
Norma was born on February 13, 1939, in Toledo, IL to Marlin “Skunk” and Rose (Hatfield) Easton. She married Larry Cummins in December of 1956 and to this union three children were born Mark, Jim, and Kelly Jo. She then married Jesse Powell on October 18, 1988, and he preceded her in 2008. Survivors include son Jim “Moon” (Joyce) Cummins; daughter Kelly Jo Cummins fiancé’ Roy Stepp; daughter in law Kim (Steve) Cummins; grandchildren Susanne (Kyle) Schackmann, Samantha (Dustin) Herdes, Lea (Matt) Creadore, Sydnie Shook, Jake Lashmet and Whitney Scherrinsky; great grandchildren Kayden, Charlotte, Stella, and Abram Schackmann, Drake and Duke Herdes, Colin Creadore and Reese Moreno; nephew Terrell Stewart; special fur babies Boo Boo, Bam Bam and little g. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and son Mark Cummins in 2008; brother Jim Easton and Aunt Cleo Redfern.
Norma was a homemaker and had worked at Peerless and Pyroferric and was an in- home care giver for many years. She loved antiques, crafting and cooking. She always looked forward to going to the covered bridge festival every year. She was an avid Green Bay packers and Newton Eagles fan.
