Millie started singing at the age of 8. A member of the original Cumberland County Barn Dance, she had to stand on a chair to reach the microphone. She was still singing with a band a week or two ago. While managing her band, Millie also worked in the Art Department at E.W. Petty Printing Company, for many years.

Millie enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, making jelly and apple butter and quilting-- of which she made several for her children and grandchildren. She had a contagious laugh, quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor.
