Mary Frances Lashmet

Mary Frances Lashmet, 93, of Toledo, IL passed away on Friday May 8, 2026, at 9:20 am at her residence.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday May 18, 2026, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time, at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.

            Fran was born on November 12, 1932, in Johnstown, IL to Harlan and Ena (Stevenson) Brown. She married David Lashmet on August 3, 1957. He preceded her in 2009. Survivors include her son Mark J. Lashmet; sister Charlene Hathaway; and 3 grandchildren Chris (Bethany) Nichols, Jacob Lashmet, and Andrew Beeson; great grandchildren Gunner Beeson, Preslie Beeson, Braeden Nichols, Ainsley Nichols, and Reese Nichols. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter Lesa Sutton.

Mary Frances Lashmet, who we all called Nene, was a well-known and well-loved presence in our community. She gave so much of her time and energy to help others and was always there when someone needed her. Nene found real happiness in her flower garden, being outside and loved nothing more than being with her family. As a devoted grandmother, she lit up whenever we were all together, whether sharing a meal, laughing, or just sitting quietly. Her steady kindness and love meant the world to us, and we will miss her deeply.   

            Memorials can be made to SBLH Hospice or the Toledo Volunteers.
