Mary Ann “Sandy” Tylka, 95, of Toledo, IL passed away on Monday November 3, 2025, at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday November 8, 2025, at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday November 7, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.
Sandy was born August 15, 1930, in Covington, KY, to William A. and Lorena Margaret “Mary” (Hunt) Brungs, and raised in Columbus, OH with her brother, Bill Brungs. She met Din (Doc) Tylka and married him on October 9, 1954, in Columbus, OH. Later they moved to Toledo, IL and were blessed by raising their 7 children: Dan (Vanessa) Tylka, Tom (Denise) Tylka, Chris Tylka (fiancé, Janet Hill), Kathy (Mark) Chancellor, Linda (Tracy) Oakley, Jean (Chris) Swim, and Lora (Layne) Sutherland. They were blessed with 21 grandchildren, which was followed by 21 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Peg Brungs. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother William Bill Brungs, great grandson Liam Oakley, mother and father-in-law Florian and Caroline Tylka, brother-in-law Joe Tylka and sister-in-law Loretta Tylka.
Sandy was a member at the Christ the King Catholic Church.
