Mary Louise (James) Oakley

Mary Louise “Wezzie” Oakley, age 86, of Toledo, IL. passed away at 4:55 pm on September 2, 2022, at Cumberland Rehab & Health Care in Greenup, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday September 8, 2022, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery rural Hidalgo, IL.

Louise was born on October 7, 1935, in Greenup, IL. to John Raymond & Mildred (Bell) James. She married John E. Oakley on August 17, 1960, and he preceded her on Sept. 17, 1991. Survivors include brothers John L. James, Walter L. (Margie) James, Lloyd B. (Janice) James, and Doyle (Mari Jane) James; sisters Dolores Finn and Doris Ann Miller; sister-in-law Donna James; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and  brother Leonard James.

For 17 years she was custodian at Cumberland Schools. She also worked the front desk at ERBA for many years and always helped with food pantry. She was a member of the New Hope Church and the Historical Society. Memorials can be made to either the Heart Assoc. or Lincolnland Hospice.
