Marjorie Maxine (Dunne) Freeman

Our dear mother, Marjorie Maxine Dunne Freeman went to be with our Lord on August 31, 2024. The first-born child of the late Richard and Audry Dunne was born on June 5, 1923. She lived to be 101 years old and was the most beloved member of our family. She was married on July 19, 1941, to the late John Kenneth Richard Freeman. Marjorie enjoyed many different endeavors throughout her lifetime. She worked her entire life well into her seventies sitting with the elderly at DMH and in their homes. Most of all she loved and cared for her family through cooking, canning, baking, crocheting, and always being available to lend a hand. She was the heart of our family.

She raised seven children Dixie (late husband, Wayne) Godwin of Baxter, Tn; Teresa Habbe (Lynus) of Mercedes, Tx, John of Hammond, Il; Jerry (Carla) of Fairhope, Al; Bev (Sonny) Caudill of Decatur, IL; Jeff (late wife, Debbie) of Decatur, IL; and Bridgiette (Brian) Allen of Salisbury, NC.  Marjorie has left a beautiful legacy 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She is deeply loved and will be missed forever. A special thank you to Eagle Ridge Assisted Living and Fairhaven Nursing Home in Decatur, Il for the excellent care and love she received at both facilities.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Friends Grove Church, 1409 County Road 700 North, Toledo, IL. 62468.

A graveside celebration of life will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at the Friends Grove Cemetery, Toledo, IL. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.
