Mamie Wilma (Baker) Thompson

Mamie Wilma Thompson, 93, of Mattoon, IL. passed away at 1:31 PM on February 16, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday February 20, 2020 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to service time at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery.

Mamie was born in Lynchburg, TN on March 23, 1926 to Earl & Minnie Baker. She married Milton H. “Jiggs” Thompson on December 21, 1957 and he preceded her on August 22, 1992. Surviving is her children Milton Thompson Jr. of Flintville, TN, Sarah Dierkens of Mattoon, Peggy (Larry) Moritz of Lerna, Brenda (Lonnie) Babb of Mattoon, Trish (Tim) Shaw of Greenup, Bobbie Martin of Jeffersonville, IN and Linda Evans of Windsor, IL; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brother James Baker of Tullahoma, TN. She was preceded in death her parents, daughter in law Brenda Thompson; son in law Darrell Evans; brother Fred Baker; sister Jimmie Lou Baker and two grandchildren.

She was homemaker and had worked at Wilson Ball Factory in Tullahoma, TN. She was a proud Baptist, loved her children and grandchildren. She always was cooking and baking for her family.
