Lurelle Lynn Beals

Lurelle Lynn Beals, age 67, of Jewett, Illinois passed away at 7:27 PM – Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday October 9, 2022, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Grove Community Center in rural Gila, IL with a meal at 1:00 pm.

Lurelle was born on February 3, 1955, in Fort Smith Arkansas, one of five children of Doyle and Carolyn (Sowers) Webb.  She was married to Greg Beals on August 6, 1977, at her parents’ residence in Jewett. Lurelle graduated from Newton Community High School in 1973. She attended the University of Illinois and graduated in 1977. Lurelle worked for Webb’s Tax Service.  Lurelle enjoyed the simple things.  She loved to garden, to make quilts, searching for “neat” rocks and enjoying a good campfire.  She always said no matter where you travel you need to buy a plant or pick up a pretty rock.  She passed down her love of rock hunting to her children and grandchildren.

Lurelle is survived by her children, Elizabeth (David) Samm, Eric (Brenda) Beals, and Adam (Jessica) Beals. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tyler and Avery Samm, and Audrey, Nathan, and Emily Beals. Sisters Barbara (Martin) Hipple and Charlotte Sarao. Brothers Daniel (Sonya) Webb and Thomas (Sandy) Webb. Brother-in-law Omer (Nita) Beals, Hallie (Marsha) Beals, David (Mary Lou) Beals, many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother in laws Richard Sarao and Lyle Beals. Sister in laws Gladys Beals, Linda Beals and Marge Beals.
