Lucille Lucy (McDonald) Pierce

Lucille “Lucy” J. Pierce, 86, of Greenup, IL passed away at 11:40 am on July 15, 2021, at her residence.

Memorial services will be at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.

Lucy was born on June 18, 1935, in Erie, Pennsylvania to Oscar and Mabel (Sandford) McDonald. She married Garland Jacob Pierce on October 20, 1951, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her children Mary Pierce of Greenup and Jacob (Jennifer) Pierce of Greenup; siblings Carl McDonald, Dorothy Moore, Peggy Hines, Mary Walker, Oscar McDonald, and Becky Armstrong; grandchildren Bryan Knifley, Sarah (Scott) Lemons, Jessica (Jake) Featherston, and Jacob A. Pierce; great grandchildren Bryan Knifley Jr., Gabriel Butler, Angel Knifley, Katelin Knifley, John Knifley Jr., Alicen Featherston and Owen Featherston; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother David McDonald; stepdaughter Connie Carter and one grandson John Knifley.

Lucy was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Open-Door Baptist Church in Toledo, IL. Memorials can be made to the Open-Door Church or to the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com
