Lewis P. Lane Jr.

Lewis P. Lane Jr, 72, of Effingham, IL., formerly of Texas, passed away on Monday August 26, 2024, at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Effingham.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Lewis was born June 22, 1952, in Texas to Lewis Porter Lane Sr. and Betty McManus. Lewis is survived by the mother of his children Sandra Lane; children Tony Lane (Chelsea) of Toledo, IL, Tonya Lane of Mattoon, IL, Toby Lane of Vienna, IL, and Steven Lane (Samantha) of Mattoon; 13 grandchildren: Heather Kennedy (Daniel), Joe Lane (Tracy), Austin Lane, Courtney Lane (John), Elizabeth Lane, Shasta Lane, Ashley Lane, Daymon Lane, William Thomas, Steven Lane, Sonya Lane, Kaleigh Lane, and Frankie Lane; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings: Elizabeth Barnes, Cindy Henderson and Bubba, all of Texas, and special friend Dan Beard of Neoga, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sisters and granddaughter.

Lewis was a roofer. He loved fishing, coon hunting, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
