Larry D. Burley

Larry Duane Burley, 76, of Toledo, IL. passed away at 9:53 AM on Thursday November 21, 2024, at his residence.

             Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 27, 2024, in the Berry Cemetery rural Toledo, IL with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans. For friends attending the service please dress in casual attire. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL is assisting the family.

            Larry was born on August 26, 1948, in Mattoon, IL, to Eldon and Gladys (Starwalt) Burley. Survivors include his mother, Gladys; son Mike Burley; daughter Susan (Larry) Swim; sister Carol (Bob) Markwell; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; Nathan (Kristy) Shirley and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Jerry Burley.

            Larry honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. He worked as the Director of Transportation for the Cumberland School district for 20 years. Larry was a lifetime member of the Greenup VFW.
