Katherine Sue Feise

Katherine Sue Feise 69, of Effingham, IL passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at 6:57 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be at the Barkley Funeral Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery in Hidalgo, IL.
            Katherine was born on June 17, 1952, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of LaVern and Sadie (Plunkett) Spraggins. She worked at Walmart in Effingham for 26 years. Katherine enjoyed making and selling crafts; writing poetry: and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Katherine loved to visit the warm Florida beaches and collecting owls.

Surviving are her three children: Merenda (Scott) Smith, David (Lauren) Feise Jr. Katherine (Jonathan) Lee; 15 grandchildren: Jacob (Mya) Dilger, Trevor Lee, Sebastian Smith, Mariah (Aaron Durbin) Dilger, Sharaya Cook, Drew (Tyler) Liffick, Bradon Lee, Kolton Dowds, Atalie Feise, Elizabeth Feise, Briana Dilger, Ayden Feise, Logan Feise, Abigail Lee, Madison Feise; and two great-grandchildren: Amara Dilger and Adalyn Durbin.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Spraggins; and sisters, Judy Hutchison, and Gloria Elston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in loving memory of Katherine, to the Special Olympics Illinois.
