Karen (Cutts) Blade

Karen C. Blade, 82, of Greenup, IL passed away at 4:33 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery Hidalgo, IL.

Karen was born March 24, 1937 in Toledo, IL the daughter of Raymond & Hollys (Rhodes) Cutts. She married James Donald Blade on May 22, 1954. Surviving is her husband Don of nearly 65 years; Sons Jim (Cyndi) Blade of Greenup and Jarod (Tosha) Blade of Lees Summit, MO; daughters Alisa (Brian) James of Charleston and Lori Blade and Donna Farley of Maryville, IL; sisters Diane Ettelbrick, Rita Lustig and Belinda Wampler; grandchildren Josh Blade, Jamie (Kaycie) Blade, Cullen James, Erin (Andy) Paulsen, Vanessa (Zachary) Parry, Tyler O’Leary, Mia Blade and Jaxsen Blade; great grandchildren Case and Callie James, Wyatt & Micha Paulsen, Freddy & Waylon Blade and Aisley Parry. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Briley Blade; brother Harold Cutts; sisters Eloise Carrell and infant Carolyn.

Karen a homemaker and in the past was a Cosmetologist, owned H & R Block Tax services and Ka-Don Ceramics both in Greenup. Karen loved quilting, Softball and Basketball.
