Judith Louise McGinnis

Judy McGinnis, 73, of Jewett, IL passed away at 5:10 am on May 7, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Memorial services will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at the Jewett Community Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Judy was born on August 9, 1947 in Decatur, IL to Theron & Evelyn (Chapman) Nash. She married Gerald “Gary” McGinnis on June 29, 1974. Survivors include her loving husband; daughter Jennifer Epperson; sons Jeff Nash, Brian (Michelle) Brown, and Gerald (Linda) McGinnis; grandchildren Nicole Nash Mintun, Katlyn Epperson, Alexander Thomas Robert,  Rachel Epperson, Jade Brown, Alexander McGinnis, and Sara McGinnis; one great grandchild Jessica Thilker. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy had worked at Kerns Manufacturing in Neoga and at Fedders In Effingham and she retired as Postmaster of the Jewett post office. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and camping.
