John W. Robey

John W. Robey, 51, of Neoga, IL passed away at 12:45 PM on February 22, 2021 at HSHS St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 5th, 2021 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 to service time on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery rural Hidalgo, IL.

John was born on October 15, 1969 in Terre Haute, IN. to Jerry Dale & Mary June (Haley) Robey.

Surviving is his mother; daughter Breanna (Jordan) Haga; son John L. Robey; granddaughter Sophia Haga; sisters Deborah (Vincent) Light, Rachel Snedeker, and Joni (Bob) Easton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry.

John graduated from Cumberland High School in 1987. After graduation he went to work in the Agriculture/ Fertilizer field and was a very dedicated employee working all the hours needed to get the job done. He was plant manager for Helena Chemical in Greenup for about 15 years. In his spare time John enjoyed riding horses and was an experienced horse trainer. He also enjoyed cooking and times riding dirt bikes and four wheelers.
