John S. Millsap

John S. Millsap, 59, of Greenup, IL passed away at 6:51 PM, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery. Please practice social distancing and masks will be required while attending services. Please come to visitation wearing your favorite sports team attire.

John was born October 22, 1961 in Effingham, IL the son of Carl and Dema (Marshall) Millsap. He married Sheila Emmerich on March 22, 1980. He is survived by his wife; sons, Marcus (Sara) Millsap and Clayton (Marki) Millsap; grandchildren, Avery, and Hayden Millsap; brother, Ed (Cheryl) Millsap; and sister, Karen (Randy) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carla Moore.

John worked at R.R. Donnelly’s for 30 years and then Evapco for the last 8 years. John coached Cumberland JFL for 12 years, was an assistant coach for CHS Football, and coached youth baseball for many years. He volunteered for the Greenup Ambulance as a driver. He was extremely passionate about all sports and especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues.
