Jesse Duane Sowers

Jesse Duane Sowers, 83, of Effingham, IL passed away at 9:35 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Greenup Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family with arrangements.

Duane was born April 8, 1937 in Greenup, IL. The son of Jesse Virgil and Delcie (Sheperd) Sowers. He married Jeanette Tucker in June of 1958. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jo-Elaine (Russell) Zink and Colleen (Bob) Gross; four grandchildren, Clayton Zink, Jessie Burnham, Alicia Gross and Emily Newell; four great-grandchildren; and sister Peggy Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kathleen Hickenbottom.

Duane was a carpet installer for 48 years.
