Jerry Ray Nichols

Jerry Ray Nichols, 70, of Casey passed away at 5:25 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Casey Township Cemetery Vernon Addition.

Jerry was born April 23, 1949 in Newton, IL to John and Virginia Maxine (Brown) Nichols. He married Donna Stice on June 20, 1969. He is survived by his loving wife; son Michael (Stephanie) Nichols; daughter Melissa (Raymond) Blair; grandchildren Stevi Raye Nichols, Shelby Jo Nichols, Emily Raye Blair, and Andrew Jay “AJ” Blair; and brothers Ron and Don Nichols.

Jerry retired from carpentry after 40 years and continued to work at Scott’s Building Center for the last eight years.  He was a H.A.M Radio operator and his call letters were AA9OH. He enjoyed playing music and song writing.  

Memorials may be made to The Falmouth Christian Chapel or Casey First Christian Church.
