Janet Cutright Obituary

Janet Celeste Cutright, 78, of Effingham, IL passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.

Janet was born January 5, 1940 in Yale, IL the daughter of Harry and Doris Hampsten. She attended Eastern Illinois University. Janet married David Stuart Cutright on August 6, 1960 in Charleston, IL. They lived in Joliet, IL until 1992.

She was a mother and homemaker; she was also an avid reader and diehard Cubs fan. She bowled for the Niemerg’s “Gutterdusters” and loved “going to the boat.” She loved the American West, especially Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, and the Colorado Rockies.

Janet leaves behind her husband of nearly 58 years, David S. Cutright of Effingham. She also leaves behind her greatest accomplishments including her son, John (Juanita) Cutright of Effingham; daughter, Laurel Durham of Effingham; and daughter, Sarah (Brian) Cutright-DeBauche of Denver, Colorado. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and eight great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held at the Cutright Cemetery in Greenup, IL. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
