James D. Myers

James Dale Myers passed away on February 19, 2022, at 11:25 p.m. at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, in Mattoon, IL.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Military Rites by Cumberland County Veterans will be held at the Barkley Funeral Chapel immediately following the visitation.

He was born on September 29, 1949, to Golden & Mary (Carrico) Myers in Mattoon, IL. He married Dianna Sue Snack on July 3, 1975. Surviving are his loving wife Dianna, daughters Sherry (Rod) Parker of Greenup, Tammy (Eric) Becker of Neoga and Son, Shane (Ashley) Myers of Farmer City, IL. Six grandchildren - Dustin (Morgan) Parker of Wahpeton, North Dakota. Dalton (Paige) Parker of Toledo, Kadie and Landry Becker of Neoga, Madie Myers of Farmer City, IL and Aubrey Hubbard of Farmer City, IL. Five great grandchildren - Addie, Lucas, and Elliot Parker of Wahpeton, ND.  Gracie and Oliver Parker of Toledo. A brother, Mark (Diane) Myers of Greenup. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Steve, and one grandson Brady lee Becker.

Jim received a Purple Heart in the army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseshoes. bowling, (his name is in the bowling hall of fame for two perfect games), and most of all loving his family and especially spoiling his grand and great grand kids. Memorials can be made to the VFW.
