Gregory Alan Glosser, 62, of Greenup, Illinois; a true free spirit, passed away on October 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of stories and memories. Known for his charismatic personality and the ability to make a friend out of anyone, Greg’s presence was felt far and wide.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday November 1, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans taking place outside the chapel at 7:00 pm. Private family burial of cremated remains will be in the Harmony Cemetery in Rural Greenup. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Greg was born to Herman and Nora (Kemper) Glosser on November 1, 1961, in Mattoon, Illinois. He married Tammy (Spencer) Glosser on August 25, 2019. Greg is survived by his wife Tammy; Siblings Don (Nancy) Glosser, John (Kathy) Glosser, and Lila Reinold; Sister-in-law Linda Glosser; Children Gregory Levi Glosser (Levi Whitaker), Brandon Cole Glosser, and Desiree Lynn (Andrew) Smith; Step-Children Sheena Spencer, Carissa Hussion, and Faith Hussion; Grandchildren Asher Ray Denson and Evelin Grace Smith; Step-Grandchildren Onyx and Margaux McKerrow, Keeley and Kenzlee Hussion, Jordan Padrick, and Chance Martz. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Glosser, and Brother-in-law Larry Reinold.
Greg’s love and passion for working on vehicles was evident in every project he undertook, a skill honed over a lifetime of dedication. A proud Marine and devoted father, Greg’s pride in his children was always clear. He faced life with a unique blend of strength and compassion, embodying what it meant to be tough and kind. Greg was known for his thrilling stories and his undeniable presence in any brawl he encountered, often becoming the life of the party with his vibrant tales.
Though Greg has left us, the memories and stories he created will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He ensured there was never a dull moment, making every day with him an adventure.
