Grace (Cooley) Zumwalt

Grace Cooley Zumwalt, 100, of Toledo, IL passed away at 11:14 AM at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL on July 12, 2019.

Services will be held Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Toledo Christian Church 1:00 PM visitation 2:00 PM funeral. Burial will be at the Toledo Cemetery. Greg Boldt will be officiating the service. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

She was born on January 5, 1919 in Bement, IL. she was the daughter of Ervin and Ella Livingston. On February 22, 1936 she married Delbert Cooley he passed away May 20, 1990. Later on, she married Charles Zumwalt in November of 2005 and he passed away July 2, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a daughter Marjorie Cooley.

Grace worked at Norge in Effingham for 20 years. She was a 50 plus year member at the Toledo Christian Church.

Surviving is her daughter Carolyn (Eugene) Young, Jewett; granddaughter Gail (Chris) Shaon, Jewett; grandson Scott Young, Toledo; three great grandchildren Brittany Shaon, Brandon Shaon, and Leandra Young; great-great grandchild Aubrey; brother John Livingston; three step sons Andy, Chris, and Charles Zumwalt and many nieces and nephews.

Grace loved to plant and raise flowers. She always had a beautiful display every year. You could drive by her house to see. She enjoyed playing her mandolin. She played with the Barn dance group, played with her family at church and many get togethers over the years.

Memorials may be made to the Cumberland Rehab Auxiliary or Toledo Christian Church.
