George E. Tucker

George Edward Tucker, 83, of Jewett, IL passed away at 12:00 pm on October 27, 2023, at Lakeland Rehab and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will follow Masonic Rites, given at 11:00 am on Friday November 3, 2023, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to service time on Friday at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Kerns Cemetery.

George was born on September 17, 1940, in Rural Newton, IL to Raymond Loyd and Ella Marie Rawlyns Tucker. He married Mary Ann Goble on March 25, 1967. Survivors include his wife; son Russell Allen Tucker; daughter Amy Sue Louer-Waggner; grandchildren Russell Allen Tucker Jr, Victoria Kathleen Tucker, and Catherine Alexis Tanner; great grandchildren Tatum Torma, Ryker Torma, Kade Tanner, and Grace Tanner. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Phillip Michael Tucker; brother Raymond Loyd Tucker Jr; sisters Clara Lucille Tucker, and Helen Marie Williams.

George was a union laborer with Local 159 for 58 years. He was an avid hunter, hunting deer, turkey, and wild boar. George was a member of Newton Masonic Lodge.
