Ernest L. “Butch” Spelbring, 75, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 2:55 pm on June 27, 2023, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

There will be no funeral services at this time. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Butch was born in Newton, IL on November 13, 1947, to Dale & Nina (Wagoner) Spelbring. He married Connie McMorris in July of 1991. Survivors include his loving wife; son Brad (Lori) Spelbring; daughters Brandi (Ken) Robinson, Brigette (Jason) Frierdich and Stacey Hutson; grandchildren Zehra Marie Grace Robinson-Spelbring, C. J. Bjorn Pollard-Spelbring, Aidan Spelbring and Jarvis Frierdich. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Andrew Spelbring; brothers Gene, Jim, Chris, and Jack Spelbring; sisters Merna Spelbring and Wanda Treece.

Butch worked at Fedders for several years, then worked and retired from World Color Press after 30 years. In his spare time, Butch enjoyed hunting. He was well known for his handling and training of bird dogs and competed in many Amateur Field Trials over the years. Butch was a member of the Winterowd Masonic Lodge #664.
