Elizabeth Cutright Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Cutright, 74, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center.  

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.   

Anne was born on March 23, 1950, at the Mattoon Hospital in Matton, Illinois.  She was the first child of George Leo Cutright, Sr and Dorothy (McCandlish) Cutright.  She is survived by her brother George L. Cutright, Jr. of Joliet.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother, Neil R. Cutright.  She is also survived by her daughter, Lori Sparks (husband-Scott Shull) of Toledo, Illinois, grandson Taylor Ring (wife- Bayle) and great-grandchildren Charlie, Lincoln and Ava Ring of Brownstown, Illinois.

Anne graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in education and then in 1997 she returned to E.I.U and earned her master’s degree in gerontology.  She worked as a teacher for several years at different local schools.  She then retired after 25 years from the Acquisition’s Department at Eastern Illinois University.  She then worked as a Case Manager for the Illinois Department on Aging.  

Anne was a lifetime member of the Cottonwood United Methodist Church in Toledo, Illinois.  She was also a member of the former Toledo United Methodist Women and the Toledo, Illinois Life Center. She volunteered for many charity organizations throughout her life and at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital for over 25 years. 

Anne was one of a kind and a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her.  She was an avid reader, Scrabble, crossword and Sudoku solver.  She enjoyed playing card games and spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed her cousins, nieces and nephews.  She loved playing with her grandchildren and her two cats.  She had such an outgoing personality and everyone who met her loved her.   

Memorials may be made to the Cottonwood United Methodist Church or the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of her little brother, Neil Cutright.
