Dayton Nicole Painter

Dayton Nicole Painter, 18, of Effingham, IL, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2024, at her home. She succumbed to respiratory issues she battled for years.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday October 31, 2024, at the Toledo Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. The burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.

 Dayton was born in Mattoon, IL on August 29, 2006, to Derick Painter and Chelsea (Johnson) Sipes. She is survived by her loving mother, Joe Sipes who helped raise her; sister Jaden Sipes; brother Braxton Painter; niece Caylynn; maternal grandmother Debbie Johnson; paternal grandfather Rick Painter; paternal great grandfather Herman Painter; uncles Cody (Jess) Johnson and Chase Johnson; aunts Dustan (Jerry) Goodwin, Amber Painter, Rickie Painter and Jamie Roberts; several cousins also survive.  Dayton was preceded in death by her twin sister Chandra Painter; maternal grandfather James “Whop” Johnson; paternal grandmother Tracy Painter; paternal great grandmother Vera Painter; maternal great grandparents Jim and Ann Sowers; uncle Korey Russell; aunt Kirsten Chitwood.

Dayton was a 2024 graduate of Effingham High School who had dreams of attending Culinary School. She loved baking, watching true crime and cold case files, and her dog Athena. Dayton was always the “life” in any room she was in. She loved painting and was very talented artist.
