Dan Lee Scales

Dan L. Scales, 67, of Toledo, IL passed away at 10:40 pm on December 24, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the Greenup Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Masonic rites will be given after visitation. Wearing of masks and social distancing guidelines will be ask of all attendees.

Dan was born on March 1, 1953 in Mattoon, IL to Vern L. “Pete” and Rosemary (Seetes) Scales. He married Linda McDonald on June 20, 1971. Surviving is his wife, son Matt (Tera) Scales of Toledo; mother Rosemary of Greenup and grandchildren Meah and Wyatt Scales. Dan was preceded in death by his father; brother Clarence “Skeeter” Scales and sister Peggy Lynn Bauguss.

Dan had worked at Bonanza Building for 15 years; he then worked at Trailmobile for 12 years; he most recently retired from the Village of Greenup in 2015 where he was superintendent of Utilities. Dan is also the owner of the Greenup Archery Shop. Dan was a member of Toledo Masonic Lodge #834.
