Charles R. Henderson

Charles R. Henderson, age 78, of Toledo, IL passed away at 3:35 am on October 13, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 19, 2021, at the Greenup United Methodist Church.  The visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday October 19, 2021, also at the Greenup United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.  The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.

Charles was born on November 1, 1942, to Ernest and Verretta (Watts) Henderson in Casey, IL.  He married Jessie Cooper on February 14, 1984 and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2010. Survivors include daughters, Kristy (Larry) Tinsman, and Paula (Tim) Walton; brothers, Bob (Debbie) Henderson, Lowell (Marilyn) Henderson, and Dwight (Connie) Henderson; sister Linda Matherly; grandchildren, Sarena (Ryan) Green, Kayla (Ryan) Althoff, Lee (Chelsea) McClain, and Shelby McClain; great-grandchildren, Raylee, Sadie, and Zayne Green, Mason, and Blaine Althoff, Khole and Emersyn McClain, and Nyah Brassard, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Lillian Schick.

Charles was a truck driver and worked for Tracy Trucking for over 20 plus years. He served on the board of the Life Center for 11 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Memorials can be made to the Life Center of Cumberland County and to the Greenup United Methodist Church.
