Carlos Serafin-Avalos

Carlos Alfredo Serafin- Avalos, 31, of Charleston, IL passed away at 9:26 am on January 15, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday January 25, 2022, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL.

 Carlos was born in Nayarit, Mexico on October 2, 1990, to Jose Manuel Serafin and Irma Yolanda Avalos. He moved to Houston, TX at the age of two. He married the love of his life William L. Croy on August 19, 2015. Survivors include his husband; daughter/granddaughters Ma’Liyah and Bailey; parents Jose Manuel Serafin (Maria Baltzar) of Hawthrone, CA, Irma Avalos (Valentin Vasquez) of Houston, TX; brothers Julian Serafin of Rosenburg, TX, Erik Vazquez of Yuma, AZ, Christian Vazquez of Houston, TX, Victor Serafin of Hawthrone, CA; sisters Stephanie Serafin of Hawthrone, CA, Jackie Vazquez of Houston, TX and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Carlos was a stay-at-home father for the last year of his life. He enjoyed working on clearing their nineteen acres of land they had just purchased. This winter he had turned his attention to the house where he had started renovations.
