Brenda Talley Obituary

Brenda Kay (Hardy) Talley, 64, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Laurel, Montana, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. She was born on February 15, 1962, in Mattoon, Illinois. Brenda was a free-spirited soul that touched many lives.

Brenda was known for her caring heart and her ability to make others feel seen and loved.  She lived life in her own way, embracing both its beauty and challenges with a unique strength.  Brenda had the best contagious smile and laugh always.  She had a deep love for people and formed meaningful connections wherever she went.

Brenda is survived by her children, Keith Randall Myers, Jodi (Just’n) Harmala, and Jaclyn (Brad) Getz; sister, Sandy (Tim) Olmstead; nieces, Heather (Travis) James, Brandy Hardy, and Charlee Hardy; nephews, Ryan (Rayne) Hardy and Brandon (Jennifer) Hardy and many more. She is also survived by six grandchildren, who were her whole world.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Dean Hardy, Nadine (Darling) Wolfe, stepfather, Fred Wolfe, and the best Dad and protector, John McClain; brothers, Larry Ormsby, Jerry Wolfe, Randy Hardy, Danny Hardy; and nephew, Zachary Lee Yocum.

Brenda went to Cumberland District Unit #77 Elementary and High School. She wore different hats throughout her working career, but she made great friends and worked alongside family at Pyroferric in Toledo, Illinois. Her most recent job, which quickly became one of her favorites, was at the Eagles F.O.E. in Laurel, Montana, where she made some forever friends. Though life took her on many different paths, she remained someone who loved deeply.  Her presence, laughter, and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Brenda. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been made. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. In the meantime, those who knew and loved her are encouraged to hold onto the memories they shared with her and to honor her life in their own personal way.

"Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day."
