Brenda R. (Burk) McMechan

Brenda R. McMechan, 78, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:05 AM on June 12, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Center in Casey, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday June 17, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Brenda was born on November 15, 1940 in Nokomis, IL to William & Ethel (Davis) Burk. She married Gary “Pee Wee” McMechan on October 25, 1987 in Las Vegas. Surviving is her husband; children Brenda Gail Pocrnich, Patty (Stirrett) Logue, Chuck Stirrett and Darrin Stirrett; five grandchildren Stefanie Pocrnich, Casey (Brooke) Lee, Amber (Brad) Probst, Whitney Stirrett (Layton Belleville) and Pacen Logue; two great grandchildren Paysli Kinkelaar and Jayclin Lee. She was preceded in death by parents; two brothers Bill and Leland Burk and son in law Marty Pocrnich.

Brenda retired from World Color Press in Effingham after 30 years. In her spare time Brenda enjoyed staying busy with her children and grandchildren, horseback riding and 4-wheeler riding, walking her dog and just being outdoors. Brenda was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a hardworking, strong willed and big-hearted friend to many.
