Brad Winnett

Brad Winnett, 59, of Greenup, IL passed away at 5:50 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Graveside services will follow in the Harmony Cemetery at 11:30 AM. The family requests casual attire.

Brad was born on March 29, 1961 in Mattoon, IL. He was the son of Charles Allen “Bud” and Deanne (Johnson) Winnett.  He is survived by his sisters, Trina (Stan) Gentry and Jill (Dan) Kimble; brother, Jeff (Nicole) Winnett; nine nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; a great-great niece and nephew; uncle, Jim Winnett; aunt, Lu Ellyn Cherry; and his cats, Ziggy, Harvest and Asshole. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Allen Winnett and fiancé Joni James.

Brad worked at the Ettlebrick Shoe Factory, North American Lighting, Evapco and Jumpin Jimmy’s. He loved his family and friends with all of his huge heart, never met a stranger, and would take into his life any person or cat that needed rescuing.
