Barbara (Blunk) Spraggins

Barbara Spraggins, 84, of Yale, IL., passed away at 10:10 pm on January 10, 2023, at Park Terrace Village in Evansville, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 17, 2023, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Yale Cemetery.

Barbara was born on July 16, 1938, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Jane (Newlin) Blunk, in Martinsville, IL. She married James Marvin Spraggins on September 28, 1963, and he preceded her in 2007. She is survived by her son Gary (Lisa) Spraggins; sister Estella Bradford; grandchildren Matthew and Maranda Spraggins, and Michaela and Tyler Russell; and one great grandchild Amelia Russell. She is preceded by her parents, husband, brothers Charles Allen Blunk, Robert Ray Blunk, and Clifford “Buddy” Blunk; and sister Rita Cooper.

Barbara was a homemaker and had worked for ERBA in Newton, IL. She also sold Avon for many years. Barbara was a member of the Martinsville American Legion Auxiliary, Jasper County Home Extension, Yale Methodist Church, and the Hunt City Church.
