Arnold Neese

Arnold “Arnie” Neese, 89, of Toledo Illinois passed away at 5:45 am on Sunday May 3, 2026, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.

In keeping with Arnie’s wishes no service will be held. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Arnie was born on October 6, 1937, in rural Cumberland County to Arthur and Ruby (Groves) Neese. He married Mary Kingery. Survivors include daughter Tammi (Brian) Warfel and sister Judy Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents Art and Joy Neese, daughter Arnetta Hirschey, brother Ron and sister Elaine Hanson.

Arnie served in the Army and the Marine Corps. After serving he had an exemplary career in trucking for over 40 years with Bekins. He was such a dedicated Yankee fan he had their emblem in gold on his tooth.
