Violet June (Kingery) Stewart

Violet Stewart, 83, of Toledo, IL passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Heartland Manor in Casey, IL surrounded by her family.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Toledo Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.

Violet was born on April 1, 1935 the daughter of Guernsey Kingery and Cora (Walker) McQuillen. She married Marion Stewart on May 14, 1955 and he preceded her in July of 2001. Violet is survived by two daughter Corinne (Rodger) Watters of Greenup, IL, and Belinda (Larry) Nidey of Casey, IL, sister Norrine Stocks of Palmview, TX, three grandchildren Katrina (Chris) Ingle, Brandy (Daniel Low) Sledge, and Ranada (Clint) Hawkins, four great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-grandchild.

Violet was a custodian for the Toledo legion and library for many years. She loved reading, crafting, and was a very active member in the Toledo Library Board, Toledo American Legion Auxiliary, the DAV Auxiliary, and a lifetime VFW Auxiliary member.
