Rex E Walker

Rex E. Walker, 82, of Newton, IL passed away at 11:45 PM on October 3, 2018 at the Newton Care Center.

            Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 to service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery.

            Rex was born in Forsyth, IL on august 1, 1936 to Rex L. and Louise (Funk) Walker. He married E. JoAnn Russell on February 10, 1957. Surviving is his loving wife; daughter Cathy (Paul) Leahy of Newton; four grandchildren Chris Walker, Megan (Ed) Rader, Patti Walker and Philip Leahy; two great grandchildren Ava and Aubrey Himes; brother Mele (Lila) Walker; sisters Ruth Wisser, Betty (Orville) Hartman and Mary (Lee) Smith. Rex was preceded in death his parents and son David Walker; brothers Sidney and Delmar; sister Judy Walker.

            Rex was a farm hand working for 40 plus years at (Don) Holsapple Farms.

Memorials can be made to the Activity fund at Newton Care Center.
