Mary A Russell

Mary Ardella Russell, 94, of Greenup, IL passed away at 10:45 pm on April 13, 2018 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday April 17, 2018 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 to service time on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Block Cemetery rural Greenup.

Mary was born on April 21, 1923 to Daniel & Bertha (Huston) Laymon. She married James Russell on August 26, 1945 and he preceded her on March 16, 2000.

Surviving are daughters Debra “Jody” Reed of Greenup and Julie Russell of Bethany; Granddaughters Lyn (Tony) Carlen of Greenup and Cindy Reed of Nashville, TN; two great-grandsons Jackson and Reid Carlen. She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Dan “Bud” Laymon and Sister Marie Baughman.

Mary worked more than 40 years at Embarras River Basin Agency in Greenup, IL. She in the past with her husband owned Jim & Dan’s Feed Store and Hilltop Lanes both in Greenup.
