Mary Roome

Mary E. Roome, 83, of Sumner and formerly of Toledo, IL passed away at 5:55 PM on October 12, 2018 at the Aperion Care Center in Olney.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 18, 2018 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 till service time at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Mullen Cemetery rural Montrose.  

Mary was born in Clay County, IL on September 29, 1935 to Pearly and Bertha (Chase) Painter. She married Gerald Roome on December 19, 1975. Surviving is her husband; sons Jim Haney, Roy (Vola) Haney and Tony Haney; daughters Yvonne (Larry) Pierce and Linda Haney; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mary was an in-home care giver for many years and worked at Norge/ Fedders in Effingham for 10 years. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com.
