Marilyn Brooks

Marilyn J. Brooks, 62, of Rose Hill, IL passed away at 9:07 am on June 5, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the service time. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery, Rose Hill, Illinois.

Marilyn was born in Terre Haute, IN on December 8, 1954 to Everett & Nova (Snider) Hanners. Marilyn and Eric Brooks have been together for 26 years. Surviving is her mother Nova of Hazel Dell; Eric Brooks of Rose Hill; son Kevin Brooks (Betsy Daugherty) of Altamont, IL; Daughter Michelle (Scott) Carroll of Newton, IL; Four grandchildren: Kylee Brooks, Mitchell Carroll, Aaron Carroll and Zach Beccue; Brothers Johnny and Larry Hanners, both of Greenup and Nolan Hanners of Martinsville, IL; Sisters Cindy Warner of Yale; Carolyn Wade and Terri Fritts, both of Greenup; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father; and one grandson Alex Daugherty.

Marilyn was a devoted mom and grandma, always thinking of her family first.  She would do whatever, whenever she could to help.  She enjoyed spending time with the grandkids more than anything, especially taking them camping.   She was a hard worker at home and on the job.  She worked at Evapco in Greenup for the last six years. She had also worked at Fedders and RR Donnelley’s.
