Louis Devall, 95, of Greenup, IL passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2018 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at the Greenup Cemetery with Military Rites by Cumberland Co. Veterans.
Louis was born on February 22, 1923 the son of Wade and Evelyn (Mitchell) Devall and they preceded him. He married Barbara Partlow on April 30, 1948 and they spent 70 wonderful years together growing their family and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Daniel (Esther) Devall and Mark (Amanda) Devall, two daughters, Louella (Don) Meriwether and Delores Morrow, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two brothers Max and John Devall, and one sister JoAnn White. He is preceded in death by son Timothy Devall, daughter Phyllis Wagner, brothers Clinton Devall, Merle Devall, and Abe Devall JR., and sister Marge Finney.
Louis enjoyed spending his time mowing the yard. He spent 50 plus some years doing mechanic work in Greenup and loved teaching his kids the family trade. He worked at Ruffner’s Chevrolet and Bud Mitchell in Greenup, IL and also J&K Mitchell in Casey, IL.
